I am a mother of two active boys and married to my junior high sweetheart. We live in Central Pennsylvania and love all four seasons. My play time is filled with yoga, golf, hiking, biking, tennis and snowboarding. I love, love, love being outdoors. One of our favorite things to do as a family is to go out to eat and try crazy food. Our most cherished week of the year is our beach week- we make no plans and stay on the beach all day long.
With that being said, I do most of my cooking at night as it soothes my soul. I am a type A personality and have a hard time just sitting down and relaxing so cooking is my way to unwind. My husband jokes with me and says, “if I have to hear you say you don’t have natural light for your food pics one more time when you cook at 10PM.”
I started cooking about 15 years ago when I met two ladies who are awesome cooks and we formed a cooking club. I also watched a ton of cooking shows and would try to replicate the recipes. I’ve had and still have cooking failures and have thrown away my fair share of food. My failures, help develop my cooking skills and now I barely use recipes. Most of my inspiration comes from the seasonal vegetables I get in my produce share, meals from restaurants and cookbooks.
I am not techy and I don’t enjoy writing so I apologize for my basic blog. What I do love is cooking and sharing my food with others. I show my love an appreciation through food. Hence why HeaVyontheVeg was formed. I hope you enjoy my recipes and thank you for visiting my blog. Enjoy!
